| Spawn | Throw a Guide Voodoo Doll into lava in The Underworld while the Guide is alive |
Critical: The Guide Must Be Alive
Sacrificing the Guide Voodoo Doll in lava requires the Guide NPC to be alive. If he's dead, the doll won't work (until he respawns). Also — the Guide dies in the process, so you won't have crafting help until he respawns.
Preparation: Build a Bridge
The Wall of Flesh pushes you from one side of the Underworld to the other. You MUST build a long bridge for the fight. Here's what to do:
- Build a horizontal bridge through the Underworld at least 1,000 blocks long
- Use Wood Platforms or Obsidian Platforms — platforms let you shoot through them while standing on them
- Remove any buildings, ash piles, or houses along the path
- Place Campfires every 100 blocks for healing regen
- Clear any floating lava pools above the bridge
Bridge Tip
You can build the bridge quickly with a Grappling Hook and Obsidian Skin potions. Alternatively, use Lava Waders or Terraspark Boots to walk on lava while building.
Recommended Gear
- Armor: Molten Armor (melee), Necro Armor (ranged), or Meteor Armor (mage). Jungle armor also works well for magic.
- Weapons:
- Ranged: Phoenix Blaster (musket upgrade) + Meteor Shot, Star Cannon (star ammo melts the boss)
- Melee: Night's Edge, Blue Moon / Sunfury flail
- Mage: Space Gun (with Meteor Armor — infinite ammo), Water Bolt, Demon Scythe
- Summoner: Imp Staff, Spinal Tap whip, Snapthorn
- Accessories: Spectre Boots (Lightning Boots or better), Shield of Cthulhu, Regeneration accessory
- Potions: Ironskin, Regeneration, Swiftness, Obsidian Skin (for lava), Rage/Wrath (depending on world evil)
Strategy
Phase 1
Once summoned, the Wall of Flesh spawns to the left or right (whichever side it's closer to) and pushes toward the opposite side. You must run and shoot:
- Shoot at the eyes — they take more damage. Kill both eyes first, then the mouth
- Keep moving backward. The Wall gets faster as its HP decreases
- Shoot the Hungry (tentacles) that reach toward you. Piercing weapons handle them well
- Jump over or grapple past any obstacles on your bridge
Phase 2 (below 50% HP)
The Wall's speed increases significantly, and the Hungry shoot back at you. The mouth opens and closes — attacking the mouth deals extra damage but you have to get close. If using a ranged build, focus on the eyes first, then pour damage into the mouth.
Don't Get Cornered
If the Wall reaches the edge of the world, you die. Always face the Wall toward the side with more bridge remaining. If you're running out of bridge, use a Magic Mirror to teleport home — but only if it's day above ground (otherwise you'll be safer underground).
